Tito Puente Animation Wins Best On-Air Advertising Award
We are very excited to learn that our Role Models Campaign celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month (in collaboration with Nickelodeon Preschool Television) has won the Imagen Award for Best On-Air Advertising.

The animated shorts introduced preschoolers to 4 Hispanic men and women who reached the top of their fields: musician Tito Puente, astronaut Ellen Ochoa, inventor Narcís Monturiol and Olympic swimmer Dara Torres. Their dynamic professions and achievements make them highly engaging role models in the eyes of children.
Alfalfa studio conducted the research, designed the characters, created original collage illustrations, produced dozens of hand-painted backgrounds, directed the stories and animation, and supervised all production and post-production aspects, including sound effects, music, and voiceover.

August 15, 2010 – Beverly Hills, Calif. Winners of the 25th Annual Imagen (Spanish for “image”) Awards, honoring positive portrayals of Latinos and Latino culture in entertainment, were announced today at a star-studded luncheon ceremony held in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The awards were handed out in front of an audience of approximately five hundred attendees representing the entertainment industry and Latino community. Among celebrities in attendance were Edward James Olmos, America Ferrera, Luis Avalos, Jon Seda, Maria Canals Barrera, Lupe Ontiveros, Oscar Nuñez, Michael DeLorenzo, Danny Pino, Nestor Carbonell, Cesar Millan and Nestor Serrano, among others. Also in attendance was U.S. Secretary of Labor and former local congresswoman, Hilda Solis.
